NH Whiskey Wars of 2019

whiskey wars

Support your favorite local whiskey bar from March 5th to April 13th in the Whiskey Wars of 2019!

Don’t know where to go? Here are three participating bars that we recommend.

1. Codex

1 Elm St, Nashua, NH 03060

Past the innocuous “Youth Council sign” and hidden behind a bookcase door lies Codex’s high-quality craft cocktails in a dimly lit, prohibition-themed setting. Enjoy your favorite classic cocktail (I love the Old Fashioned) or try one of their own (the Paper Plane is great) with one of the “Whiskey War” featured whiskeys to help this beloved Nashua speakeasy take the top spot!

2. Chuck’s Barbershop

90 Low Ave, Concord, NH 03301

I once had an embarrassingly hard time getting into this popular Concord speakeasy after I couldn’t figure out the riddle. But the secret barbershop entrance is part of the fun, and once you’re inside the 1920’s ambiance and dressed-up staff add to the authentic vibe. As for whiskey drinks? Check out their impressive lineup for whiskey wars below.

2. Cheddar and Rye

8 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH 03101

With over 250 whiskeys to choose from, Cheddar and Rye is New Hampshire’s largest whiskey bar. How do you even begin to dive into such a huge selection? Try a flight of three half-pours. Then nosh on a gooey grilled cheese sandwich, their specialty, and enjoy the relaxed pub space.

All of these places also have a ton of knowledge behind the bar, so if you don’t know much about whiskey be sure to ask a bartender to guide you through this boozy battle.
