    2. The History

    Byron Hedblom

The property was originally built by Bryon and Dolores Hedblom. Byron is the builder of the historic M/S Mount Washington, Sophie C., and Dolores E. vessels, which all still ply the waters of Lake Winnipesaukee.

You’ll also find naval architecture inspiration in finishing touches throughout the property, including a sit-in bay window that evokes the look-out from a ship’s wheelhouse. The flag pole and fence also recall the flag mast on a ship.

The Mount Washington Cruises are a great way to spend the day in the area.

    3. The Location

Weirs Beach. Funspot. Meadowbrook Pavilion. The Lantern Inn is located in the epicenter of Laconia’s dynamic tourist attractions but situated on 5 acres of quiet, serene land. It’s the best of both worlds for travelers who like to go out for fun but come back to quiet.

The heart of Lantern Inn, The Gathering Room is what sets this B&B apart from stuffy hotels. Cozy, clean, and bright, it’s also a great spot for groups to use as a meeting space!
